Institution

Overview, vision and principles

A proposal to bring together the public sector, the private sector, investors, operating companies, contractors, universities and the territory’s community production organizations.

Overview

Purpose of the initiative

The Orinoco Subregion is an opportunity to drive a new stage of economic development in southern Anzoátegui State. Its location on the Orinoco River, its farming and forestry resources, its fishing, its potential for industrial processing, its ties to Venezuela’s energy sector and its road and river links are territorial assets on which a regional investment attraction strategy can be built.

The challenge is to turn those assets into profitable projects, productive jobs, local supplier chains, modern infrastructure, reliable services and sustainable revenue for the municipalities and their residents.

The proposal does not see the territory merely as a source of raw materials or a transit zone: it seeks to turn it into an integrated production platform, able to add value, attract capital, train people, grow companies, strengthen public finances and steadily raise the population’s quality of life.

The institutional initiatives, governance mechanisms, incentives and commitments presented on this portal are proposals for assessment and agreement, not benefits or guarantees to be regarded as already in force.

Positioning

Investing in the Orinoco Subregion means helping to build a production platform that connects resources, companies, talent and markets, with potential for road and river integration and opportunities for industrial expansion.

Vision

Position the Orinoco Subregion as a hub of diversified economic development — energy, agribusiness, forestry and river logistics — able to connect local production with national markets, the Caribbean and other international markets, through a stable alliance between private investment, efficient public management and the economic participation of communities.

Complementary investments

Small and medium-sized companies that meet the needs of anchor companies and regional economic activity.
